Yearly service for gas fireplaces and gas logs: glass, logs, burner and vent cleaned and checked so the flame stays steady and safe.
A gas fireplace looks like it needs no care, and that is why many go years without any. In fact the glass fogs, the logs collect dust and lint, the burner ports clog and the vent can fill with debris or nests. A flame that turns yellow or lazy, a film on the glass or a faint smell are all signs the system needs attention.
Our gas fireplace visit is a cleaning and a check. We clean the glass, lift and clean the logs, brush the burner, check the pilot and the flame pattern and look at the vent, inside and out. Gas line, valve and regulator work belongs to qualified gas trades, and we tell you plainly when something needs one.
A white or gray film on the glass is a normal byproduct that needs the right cleaner. Logs get dusty and must be placed exactly as designed, so we handle them with care and put them back correctly.
Clogged burner ports give uneven flames, and a dirty pilot assembly can fail to light. We clean and check them so the fire lights and burns evenly.
Direct vent systems exhaust through a pipe to the outside. We look at the vent and the termination for blockage, damage and nests.
A strong gas smell, soot on or around the unit, or a carbon monoxide alarm are not routine. Leave the area, ventilate and call for help right away.
